Belarus is not planning to recall its ambassador from Ukraine, Belarusian Foreign Ministry spokesman Dmitry Mironchik said at a press conference in Minsk on Thursday.

"We don't see the need for taking analogous steps," Mironchik said.

"After the Ukrainian ambassador was recalled from Minsk, Belarusian Ambassador Valentin Velichko met with the first deputy foreign minister of Ukraine. Dialogue and exchange of opinions between the countries is continuing," he said.

Minsk holds the view that "the ambassadorial level is the optimal level of interaction between the two neighboring countries," he said.

It was reported earlier that Kyiv had recalled its Ambassador to Minsk Mykhailo Yezhel for consultations.
