The Verkhovna Rada has called on the countries guaranteeing Ukraine's security to preserve the territorial integrity of the country, using all possible measures - diplomatic, political, economic and military.

A total of 263 MPs out of the 322 registered in the session hall voted for a respective appeal on Tuesday.

The parliament asked the United Kingdom and the United States to guarantee the territorial integrity of Ukraine, applying all possible measures for this - both diplomatic and military.

"The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine addresses the United Kingdom and the United States, as member countries of the Memorandum on Security Guarantees and in connection with Ukraine's accession to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, with a request to fulfill their obligations in accordance with its provisions, and to apply all possible diplomatic, political, economic and military measures to immediately stop aggression and preserve the independence and sovereignty of Ukraine's existing borders," reads the statement.

The parliament also called on Russia, as a country that signed the Budapest Memorandum, "to immediately withdraw its troops from Ukrainian territory and stop aggression against the Ukrainian state, and to guarantee its territorial integrity and independence."
