Israel expects some 30,000 Hasidic Jews to go to Uman, Ukraine, to celebrate the Jewish New Year, Israeli Deputy Interior Minister Fania Kirshenbaum told a press conference in Kyiv on Monday.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry and security services are now working with the Ukrainian authorities on organizing the pilgrims' visit to Ukraine, she said.

"We are hoping that everything will go smoothly," Kirshenbaum said.

Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, will be celebrated on September 4-6. Breslov Hasidic Jews from all over the world visit the grave of Rebbe Nachman of Breslov, the founder of the branch of Breslover Hasidim, every Jewish New Year.
