Ukraine's Foreign Ministry has welcomed the resumption of the work of the Verkhovna Rada and looks forward to the speedy adoption of the bills needed for European integration.

"Ukraine's Foreign Ministry welcomes the resumption of the work of the Ukrainian parliament. We look forward to the speedy adoption of the bills that are needed to achieve further progress in the visa dialog with the EU, as well as to sign the Association Agreement with the EU this autumn," acting Director of the Foreign Ministry's Information Policy Department Yevhen Perebyinis said at a briefing on Wednesday.

He said that the issue of European integration remains a priority in the country's foreign policy.

Perebyinis noted that the central authorities in Ukraine had conducted active work on the implementation of a plan of priority actions on European integration for 2013, as well as the fulfillment of the tasks outlined in a respective presidential decree.

"The government of Ukraine is constantly monitoring the implementation of the plan of priority actions on Ukraine's integration into the EU for 2013. The plan is currently being implemented in accordance with the established deadlines," he said.
