High-speed movement between Simferopol and Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Donetsk to be launched in May

Prydniprovska railways plans in May 2013 to launch high-speed movement from Simferopol to Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Donetsk using Skoda two-deck Intercity trains as a part of the new summer schedule, the press service of the railways reported, referring to its head, Ihor Hladkikh.

It is planned that it will take around five hours to get from Dnipropetrovsk to Simferopol and around six hours and 30 minutes from Donetsk.

A pilot trip of the Skoda train on the Kharkiv-Simferopol-Dnipropetrovsk route was carried out on January 29, 2013.

As reported, Skoda trains started running on Prydniprovska railways on May 28, 2012. Skoda high-speed trains are used on the Kharkiv-Donetsk-Dnipropetrovsk-Donetsk-Dnipropetrovsk and the Dnipropetrovsk-Donetsk-Kharkiv-Donetsk-Kharkiv routes.

Prydniprovska Railways provides services to Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia regions, Crimea and districts in five other regions. The enterprise includes four departments for railway transportation. Transit work is conducted at 244 stations, of which seven are for passengers, and 67 for freight.
