Azarov warns U.S. AES about responsibility for poor work of AES Kyivoblenergo

Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has sharply criticized work of AES Kyivoblenergo regional energy company, operated by the United States' AES Сorporation, this winter and warned the corporation about possible license deprivation.
"[In this situation] we have to raise the issue of the possibility to use the grid. I am officially warning the owners that we will never tolerate such work," the premier said at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Wednesday.
"We will use necessary influence mechanisms if we have to," Azarov said.
AES Kyivoblenergo operates power lines in Kyiv region. The company services of over 820,000 industrial consumers and households.
The owner of an 89.12% stake in AES Kyivoblenergo is AES Washington Holdings B.V. (the Netherlands), part of AES Corporation (the United States). AES also holds an 84.56% in AES Rivneenergo.
