A Ukrainian doctor has been wounded in an attack in Libya, the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine has said on Tuesday.

"The Embassy of Ukraine in Libya reported that on November 27 in Misrata, unidentified people committed an armed attack on the residence of a doctor, who is a Ukrainian citizen, during which he was wounded," the ministry's spokesman, Oleksandr Dykusarov, said at a press briefing.

He added that currently nothing threatens the Ukrainian's life and health. The Embassy of Ukraine in Libya addressed the Libyan Foreign Ministry with a note on ensuring the safety of Ukrainians in the country.

In connection with the increasing number of attacks on foreigners, the Foreign Ministry regularly recommends Ukrainian citizens to refrain from trips to this country until the situation there stabilizes.
