Statements by some CEC members on election result politically biased, says Regions Party MP Kozhara

Statements by some members of the Central Election Commission concerning the election results, which were issued as a "dissenting opinion" can be explained by political bias and obvious political order, a member of the Party of Regions faction, Leonid Kozhara, has said.

"It's no secret how the current composition of the Central Election Commission was formed, so it is clear that the position of people delegated by the opposition is dictated by the interests of these political forces," the press service of the party quoted the politician as saying.

According to the lawmaker, having suffered a defeat and unable to form a parliamentary majority, members of the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko and their temporary allies decided to discredit the elections, showing a complete disregard for the will of Ukrainians.

He also noted that the duty of the CEC members was to observe the laws, and if someone felt like making a political career, they needed to leave the Commission first and then to make political statements.

"The CEC is not a political agency and its members should stay out of politics. Any inconsiderate frivolous political statements undermine Ukraine's image in the world, and those who resort to dirty political insinuations need to understand this," Kozhara summed up.
