Kyiv court bans rallies in city center for 2 weeks - opposition

The district administrative court of Kyiv on Saturday evening ruled to ban any massive events, except state events, in the central part of the city until November 12, the press service of the Coalition of Participants in the Orange Revolution reports.

"Given the potential danger of conflicts between organizations with opposite views the court based on a presidential decree banning rallies in the central part of the city ruled to prohibit any massive events (except state) until November 12 inclusively," the newsletter says.

A representative of the coalition was the defendant in the case as the coalition had filed a notification of conducting an action in Independence Square and the square in front of CEC starting with Sunday (election day).

Thus any rallies in Independence Square, in front of CEC or other government institutions are now banned by court.
