Tymoshenko wants to return from hospital to prison

Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has refused to undergo medical treatment in Central Clinical Hospital No. 5 in Kharkiv and wants to return to the Kachanivska penal colony, her lawyer, Serhiy Vlasenko, has said.

"Yulia Tymoshenko is refusing to undergo treatment under inhuman and absolutely brutal video surveillance, with videos to be most likely posted on the Internet tomorrow," he said at a press conference on Friday.

Vlasenko said that the ex-premier had written a respective letter.

"She won't undergo treatment under video cameras," he said.

He noted that he expected Tymoshenko to be transferred to prison soon.

"Yes, we can expect this," he said, when asked whether it is possible to expect that Tymoshenko could be transferred to the Kachanivska penal colony in the next few days.

Vlasenko also quoted the text of Tymoshenko's letter confirming that she was on the video that was posted on the Internet.

"Firstly, I confirm the authenticity of 90% of these materials, especially in the part that concerns my physical therapy sessions with the therapist in a room for medical procedures," reads the letter.

As reported, a video was earlier posted on the Internet, in which a woman resembling Tymoshenko moving around in high heels in a hospital room and performing physical exercises in a room for medical procedures.
