Podoliak on postponement of Trump's special envoy's visit to Kyiv: This is positive signal
The postponement of the visit of Donald Trump's future special representative for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, is a positive signal, as it shows that the Trump administration has a deep understanding of the nature of this war, and that it is necessary to look for tools to significantly influence the Russian Federation, said Mykhailo Podoliak, adviser to the head of the President’s Office.
“This is an absolutely positive signal, because it shows that in the transitional administration of Mr. Trump there is already a deep understanding of the nature of this war, a deep understanding of the motives of the Russian Federation, a deep understanding that it is impossible to ask Russia for something and it will respond adequately, and we really need to look for tools to significantly influence the Russian Federation,” Podoliak said on the air of the national telethon on Tuesday.
According to him, the postponement of Kellogg's visit also suggests that the Trump administration is diving into the information provided by intelligence agencies, think tanks, and so on, and “has a clearer idea of what kind of war this is, what solutions there might be, what solutions might actually be implemented, and so on.”
As reported, Donald Trump's future special envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, postponed a study trip to Kyiv and other European capitals until the inauguration of the U.S. President-elect, which will take place on January 20.
