Ukrainians declare almost 2,000 weapon units over month – Ministry of Internal Affairs

During the month, Ukrainians declared 1,930 units of firearms and more than 263,000 units of ammunition, the Ministry of Internal Affairs told Interfax-Ukraine.
"During the month of the law's validity, Ukrainians declared 1,930 units of firearms and more than 263,000 rounds of ammunition," the department informed.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs is confident that the campaign to declare weapons by civilians has already had a good result, Ukrainian society understands the importance of recording and controlling weapons, because it is a component of the security of the state and every Ukrainian.
"Combating the illegal arms trade in the conditions of a full-scale war is a complex and multi-stage task, but I am confident that we will cope with it," Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko told the agency.
"We are counting on the Ukrainians to make a conscious decision to declare and legally store weapons, as well as the realization that weapons can only be used against the occupiers, but in no case for criminal purposes. The issue of security is complex and includes not only the work of law enforcement officers, but awareness of citizens as well," the Minister of Internal Affairs emphasized.
