Chernihivoblenergo installs first two of seven 1,000 kVA transformers of Latvian Rīgas ūdens
JSC Chernihivoblenergo at the end of September 2024 received assistance from the Latvian utility company Rīgas ūdens in the form of seven transformers with a capacity of 630-1,000 kVA, which were delivered to Ukraine with the help of the Latvian charity organization TEV.
"We installed two 1,000 kVA transformers at a distribution point in one of the densely populated microdistricts of Chernihiv, which suffered significantly as a result of shelling during the active phase of military operations in Chernihiv region," said Deputy Technical Director for Low Voltage Networks Serhiy Pereverza, quoted on the company's website.
He expressed gratitude to Latvian partners for the assistance provided.
"Unfortunately, the enemy does not stop shelling energy infrastructure. Moreover, it has chosen it as one of its strategic targets, so we really need equipment that could replace the damaged one. Therefore, such assistance is very important, and most importantly, timely," Pereverza noted.
As reported, Chernihivoblenergo received seven transformers from Latvian Rīgas ūdens, transferred to Ukraine by the Riga City Council under the coordination of the Latvian charity organization TEV.
