Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasizes that the Ukrainian energy sector is the "enemy's target," and during the massive attack on Thursday night, "strikes by Kalibr missiles with cluster munitions on civilian infrastructure have been recorded in several regions."

"This morning, there have already been reports from the Air Force commander, the ministers of internal affairs and energy about the consequences of the Russian strike. The target is our energy sector," Zelenskyy wrote on Telegram on Thursday morning.

"A total of about 100 attack drones, more than 90 missiles of various types. In several regions, strikes by Kalibrs with cluster munitions have been recorded, and specifically on civilian infrastructure. These cluster bombs make it much more difficult for our rescuers and power engineers to eliminate the consequences of the strike, and this is a very vile escalation of Russian terrorist tactics," the president emphasized.

According to him, the necessary forces have been deployed in all areas where it is needed. "Our power engineers and all services are working hard to restore normal life, to help people. Points of invincibility have been deployed. I’m grateful to each and every one of you who is now helping and doing your job to restore power supply," the head of state wrote.

Zelenskyy emphasized that "each such attack proves that air defense systems are needed now in Ukraine, where they save lives, and not at storage bases." "This is especially important in the winter, when we must protect our infrastructure from targeted Russian strikes. We are constantly working with partners to have more power for defense, and timely deliveries now and full implementation of agreements, in particular on air defense, is what is most needed," the president wrote.
