Zelenskyy about Russia's strikes on Thurs: Red Cross was even afraid to say that it was a Russian strike

In its official communication, the International Committee of the Red Cross was even afraid to say that a strike on the humanitarian mission in Viroliubivka, Donetsk region, yesterday was launched by the Russian forces, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said on Friday, adding that Egypt also did not show any reaction to the Russian attack on a civilian vessel in the Black Sea.

"Yesterday, the Russian army inflicted one of numerous strikes on Ukraine. It was an artillery attack on the village of Viroliubivka, Donetsk region. The Russian forces saw their target. The trucks of the International Committee of the Red Cross were burned down. Two people were wounded by this strike. And, regrettably, three were killed… And it is sad, very sad to see that the Red Cross in its official communication was afraid to even say that it was a Russian strike," he said at the 20th meeting of the Yalta European Strategy (YES).

The head of state recalled that on Thursday, September 12, a Russian missile hit a bulk carrier with wheat on board in the Black Sea. Its destination port was in Egypt.

"And it was just a luck that the missile did not kill anyone in the crew. Egypt showed no reaction. Nothing. Although it is about their food security," he said.

"That is how Russia treats Egypt, and food security, and free navigation – like a typical terrorists. While there are double standards in the sphere of morale, Putin can seek anything but peace," Zelenskyy said.
