The circumstances of a Russian missile attack on Poltava will be clarified by the Main Inspection of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine jointly with the law enforcement officers, Defense Minister of Ukraine Rustem Umerov has said on Tuesday.

"Today, Poltava and all of Ukraine are witnessing a terrible tragedy. The Russian aggressor hit one of the city's educational institutions and a hospital with ballistic missiles. Dozens people died, and hundreds were injured. Rescuers and emergency services are working on the site. The circumstances of the tragedy will be clarified by the Main Inspection of the Ministry of Defense with the law enforcement officers," he said on Facebook.

The minister added that "today's tragedy in Poltava is another evidence of the brutality of russian terror."

He also offered condolences to the families of the victims.
