Ukrainian Red Cross vows to develop system of support for veterans
The system of support for veterans will continue to develop, Head of the Rehabilitation and Support Department of the Ukrainian Red Cross Hanna Didenko has said.
"Today it is important to implement a system of support for veterans and their families, which will take more than one year, and ensure that all necessary services are provided gradually and efficiently," she was quoted on Facebook as saying at the 12th International Veterans Forum "Ukraine. Veterans. Unity."
The Ukrainian Red Cross is already implementing several projects of support for veterans and their families, including psychosocial care, home rehabilitation services, provision of auxiliary means of rehabilitation, recommendations on housing adaptation, social adaptation of veterans and their families.
Nine mobile rehabilitation teams of the organization currently operate in five regions of Ukraine and provide services to almost 200 persons.
Since April 2024, a unified hotline has been operating for veterans, organized by the Ukrainian Red Cross jointly with the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine. Ten operators of service from 250 to 350 calls per day.
