Ukrainian Red Cross warns about creation of fake telegram channel
The Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) draws attention to the creation of a fake telegram channel "Red Cross of Ukraine" and asks citizens not to provide their personal data in an online application for allegedly receiving monetary assistance.
"A fake telegram channel, the Red Cross of Ukraine, has been created, duplicating most of the news articles from the official channel of the Ukrainian Red Cross. In this channel, administrators encourage people to fill in their personal data in an online application for allegedly receiving cash assistance of UAH 6,500," the URCS said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
URCS posted a photo of a fake channel on a social network.
The Ukrainian Red Cross stressed that it does not collect personal data or bank card information through social networks and bots.
"All official communication channels of the Ukrainian Red Cross have been verified, that is, they are recognized by social networks and have a blue circle with a check mark next to the name, which confirms this status," the message says.
The Ukrainian Red Cross recalled that it informs about its activities on the official telegram channel (https://t.me/UkrainianRedCross), and also listed a list of his official social media channels: Instagram - https://instagram.com/redcrossukraine; Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/RedCrossUkraine/; Telegram - https://t.me/RussianRedCross and @redcrossukraine_bot; Website - https://redcross.org.ua /; Twitter - https://twitter.com/redcrossukraine; TikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@redcrossukraine; LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/com.../ukrainian-red-cross-society/.
The URCS asks citizens to inform the support service of the Ukrainian Red Cross about this when suspicious information is found ([email protected] ) or to clarify the authenticity of the message in the Information Center by calling
