Diia launches service for submitting applications to intl Register of Damage

The Diia portal has launched a service for submitting applications to the international Register of Damage for owners of housing damaged or destroyed as a result of Russian aggression, the press service of the Ministry of Digital Transformation said.

"From now on, all Ukrainians whose homes were damaged or destroyed as a result of Russian aggression can submit applications to the international Register of Damage. This will form the basis for future reparations that the aggressor country must pay for all the destruction," according to the press release.

It is noted that the service is available to all Ukrainians whose housing was damaged, including those whose property rights are not registered in the Register of property rights, if there is no act of damaged property from local authorities, or if the housing is located in a combat zone and temporarily occupied territories.

"Now everyone whose housing has been damaged since February 24, 2022, and is located on the territory of Ukraine, including the occupied territories and the Crimea peninsula, can apply for compensation for damage," the ministry said.

The service and requirements for the development of the international Register were implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine with the support of the USAID/UK aid-funded Transparency and Accountability in Public Administration and Services (TAPAS).
