Romania, Moldova working on solutions to provide Ukraine with additional energy equipment – Kuleba
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba thanked his Romanian and Moldovan colleagues for working on solutions to provide Ukraine with additional energy equipment.
As Kuleba said at a joint press conference with Moldovan and Romanian colleagues following the results of the trilateral meeting in Chisinau, the three states paid special attention to energy cooperation issues today.
“We need to create an energy zone without borders for gas, electricity, hydrogen, increasing production, developing energy infrastructure and using gas transmission networks more efficiently. I would like to thank my colleagues and representatives of the relevant ministries of energy of the three countries who joined us today for the decisions they are preparing on the supply of equipment,” he said.
According to Kuleba, as soon as the decisions discussed by the parties today are implemented, it will greatly contribute to ensuring Ukraine's energy security.
In addition, Ukraine, Moldova and Romania discussed regional cooperation in the field of transport infrastructure on the Danube, in the ports of the Black Sea.
“The relevant representatives of the ministries of infrastructure were very specific in their discussions today. And we, as foreign ministers, have taken note of what needs to be done internally in all three countries to facilitate the free movement of goods and people across our borders. I have no doubt that we will achieve this goal,” the minister expressed confidence.
Thirdly, as the head of Ukrainian diplomacy noted, he and his colleagues coordinated efforts to counter disinformation and other forms of hybrid aggression by Russia.
“Russia will use its entire propaganda machine to try to influence the presidential elections in Moldova this year, and we are ready to share with Moldova everything we know about how Russian hybrid threats work to help you defend against these threats,” the minister said.
In addition, the parties discussed how Romanian and Moldovan private businesses can take an active part in the reconstruction of Ukraine.
“I am sure that your companies will find great opportunities in this process, and we will welcome them,” Kuleba said.
