Ukrainian farmers thresh 57.6 mln tonnes of harvest in 2023

Farmers from all regions of Ukraine threshed 57.6 million tonnes of grains and oilseeds, of which 39.228 million tonnes of grains, 18.457 million tonnes of oilseeds, the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reported.

According to the report, grain and leguminous crops were harvested on an area of 8.275 million hectares with a yield of 4.74 tonnes per ha.

To date, in Ukraine, the threshing of barley has been completed from 1,505 hectares (101% of the plan), from which 5.863 million tonnes were received; 22.210 million tonnes of wheat were harvested from 4,695 hectares (101%); 396,800 tonnes of peas from 154,400 hectares (103%) were obtained, as well as 4.005 million tonnes of rapeseed from 1,396 hectares (98%) were obtained.

The harvest of millet is being completed, of which 162,400 tonnes were obtained from 77,400 hectares (93%), and 203,600 tonnes of buckwheat were threshed from 136,600 hectares (97%). Some 9.282 million tonnes of corn were threshed from 1.377 million hectares (34%)

In addition, 961,600 tonnes of other grains and leguminous crops were threshed from 331,200 hectares.

In Ukraine, harvesting of oilseeds continues, in particular, 10.211 million tonnes of sunflower (9.042 million tonnes a week earlier) from an area of 4.358 million hectares (86%), 4.2411 million tonnes of soybeans (3.776 million tonnes) from 1.641 million hectares (91%).

Sugar beets were dug from an area of 125,300 hectares (96,400 hectares a week earlier), which amounted to 50% of the planned area. Some 5.912 million tonnes of sugar beets were received.

In connection with the revision of the forecast, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy is monitoring information on the yield of all agricultural crops. Thus, the yield for wheat was 4.76 tonnes per ha, barley – 3.9 tonnes per ha, peas – 2.57 tonnes per ha, millet – 2.1 tonnes per ha, and buckwheat – 1.49 tonnes per ha. The yield of corn is 6.74 tonnes per ha, rapeseed – 2.87 tonnes per ha, soybeans -2.58 tonnes per ha, sunflower – 2.34 tonnes per ha. Sugar beet yield is 47.19 tonnes per ha.
