Ukrainian ferroalloy enterprises, representatives of the Economic Development and Trade Ministry of Ukraine, lawyers of Ilyashev & Partners are participating in the ferrosilicon manganese duty sunset review in the United States.

The Ukrainian Association of Ferroalloy Producers told Interfax-Ukraine that Executive Director of the association Serhiy Kurdriavtsev and Head of International Trade Practice at Ilyashev & Partners Olena Omelchenko, representatives of the Zaporizhia and Nikopol ferroalloy plants, the trade protection department of the Economic Development and Trade Ministry and the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States.

"Hearing is the important stage of the sunset review when the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) would have a chance of hearing the arguments of the sides and talk to witnesses. The Ukrainian team has thoroughly prepared for the process, it managed to present all arguments in the interests of Ukrainian producers," the association said.

It is expected that if the positive determination is made Ukrainian producers would have a chance of supplying its products to the U.S. market on the market conditions.

"The position is strong. Ukraine has a chance to win, but against the backdrop of rising duties in the United States regarding steel and aluminum imports, world trade wars and cases of protectionism in several countries, protecting the interests of Ukrainian ferrosilicon manganese producers remains a challenge," the association said.
