Finance Ministry has no plan to amend 2018 budget - Markarova

The Finance Ministry does not plan to submit changes to the budget of 2018, Acting Minister of Finance Oksana Markarova has said.

"We do not plan, as I said, this year to come out with changes to the budget, except that it will deal with some extraordinary measures," she said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

She also said the Ministry of Finance had found a common point of view with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) regarding budget issues in a number of positions. However, negotiations in this direction continue since some of the issues require "corrective measures."

"... But, I think, it will be enough to conduct them at the level of the Ministry of Finance or the Cabinet of Ministers," Markarova explained.

Previously the acting finance minister said that Ukraine expects an early resumption of financing from the IMF, as negotiations on remaining budget issues and gas prices are proceeding constructively. Observance of the ceiling budget deficit is one of the three preconditions of the International Monetary Fund, along with the increase in gas prices and introduction of amendments to the recently adopted law on the High Anti-Corruption Court.
