IMF continues discussion with Ukrainian authorities on some issues of pension reform

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) jointly with the World Bank continues working with Ukrainian authorities on solving some issues of the approved pension reform, Resident Representative of the IMF in Ukraine Goesta Ljungman has said.

He said at the Fitch Ratings conference in Kyiv on Thursday that the IMF is working on including enough enumeration for longer work and larger contributions to the pension system, as well as declaring of real income.

Ljungman also said that for the completion of the fourth review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) Ukrainian authorities are to approve the law on privatization, bring internal tariffs for gas in line with imported prices and pass legislation on the establishment of the anti-corruption court along with the adoption of the pension reform.

In addition, he said that the IMF continues negotiation with the government on the draft national budget for 2018. The IMF is monitoring the fact that the national budget meets the EFF goals, in particular, that the budget deficit was within 2.5% of GDP, Ljungman said.
