NBU repaid UAH 1.377 bln of refinancing to insolvent banks in ten months

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) in January-October 2017 received UAH 1.377 billion in repayment of debts on refinancing loans issued to insolvent banks, according to the central bank's website.

According to the NBU, in particular UAH 564 million was received from the Individuals' Deposits Guarantee Fund, which for this period sold the pledged property (assets) for UAH 586.2 million. The bulk of the sold assets, namely for the amount of UAH 529 million, were the rights of claims on the loan agreements at the NBU.

In addition, the volume of approval by the National Bank of implementing the rights of claims on pledged credit agreements has increased. In particular, 50 decisions on implementation of the rights of claims on 49,000 loan agreements, the total debt on which is almost UAH 46 billion, were made.

"The increase in permits for the sale of pledged property (assets) is related to the optimization of the overall process of agreeing initial prices by the NBU and the Individuals' Deposits Guarantee Fund, as well as the fund's transition to the ProZorro.Sale electronic trading system, which allows the simultaneous use of 29 leading electronic platforms in Ukraine," the report said.
