Energoatom sees 77.8% fall in net profit in 2016

National Nuclear Generating Company Energoatom in 2016 saw a 77.8% fall in net profit, to UAH 187.126 million.

According to a report posted on the company's website, its net revenue in January-September 2016 grew by 9.6%, to UAH 36.068 billion, while gross profit fell by 22.7%, to UAH 5.724 billion.

According to the document, as of December 31, 2016, the price of nuclear fuel at the company’s warehouses was UAH 10.668 billion and in the active zone – UAH 8.304 billion. In addition, enriched uranium product for UAH 1.031 billion is taken into account.

As reported, Energoatom in 2015 saw UAH 1.168 billion of net profit compared to UAH 6.494 billion of net loss in 2014.

Energoatom is the operator of all four Ukrainian-based operating nuclear power plants, which have 15 VVER reactors with an overall generating capacity of 13.835 gigawatts.

The company also operates the Tashlyk hydroelectric pumped storage power plant with a 302 MW capacity in turbine mode and Oleksandrivka hydropower plant with an 11.5 MW capacity, which together with Yuzhnoukrainsk nuclear power plant make up the South Ukrainian energy complex.
