Coal stocks at DTEK, Centrenergo's TPPs exceed minimum stock level

Coal stocks at thermal power plants (TPPs) of DTEK Energo and Centrenergo exceed the acceptable stock level set by Ukraine's Energy and Coal Industry Ministry.

DTEK Energo reported that its plants receive enough coal and continue accumulating it. This will allow generating electricity in winter. As of November 25, 2016 some 1.157 million tonnes of coal was at DTEK TPPs with the requirement for the emergency supply level being 720 tonnes.

Centrenergo said that as of November 29, 2016, some 694 tonnes of coal were at its TPPs with the emergency supply level being 280 tonnes.

As reported, new rules of the wholesale electricity market were introduced on November 25. They concern the possibility of not launching TPPs if coal stocks at their warehouses are lower than the acceptable level.
