Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers has foreseen UAH 400 million in the revised draft 2017 national budget for the implementation of the energy efficiency program, the press service of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving has reported.

"The State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving jointly with the active association of program supporters would continue working on the provision of a larger sum to stimulate households to save," Agency Head Serhiy Savchuk said.

The press service said that UAH 400 million included in the draft 2017 national budget will be sent to provide non-refund financial assistance to households and homeowner associations to take energy efficiency measures: insulation of buildings, installation of water and heat meters, heaters with thermostatic regulators, replacement of windows, modernization of lighting and other things.

Since the beginning of the program in 2014 over 180,000 families raised almost UAH 2.6 billion for energy efficiency measures and the government provided around UAH 1 billion of compensation.
