Kyivstar sees 11% rise in revenue in Jan-Sept

Kyivstar mobile communications operators saw UAH 11.079 billion of total revenue in January-September 2016, while a year ago the indicator was UAH 10.003 billion.
The operator said in a press release on Monday that earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) over the period grew by 30%, to UAH 6.019 billion compared to UAH 4.625 billion a year ago. EBITDA margin rose by 8.1 percentage points, to 54.3% compared to 46.2% a year ago.
Capital investment over the period under review fell by 32%, to UAH 1.837 billion, and in Q3 2016 the figure grew by 11% year-over-year, to UAH 860 million.
In July-September 2016, total revenue rose by 9%, to UAH 3.922 billion thanks to development of 3G network and growth in consumption of voice and Internet services.
"Ukrainians started talking more and using 3G services more - minutes of use (MoU) grew to 544 minutes in Q3 2016 and 3G traffic in our network – to 9,111 terabytes," Kyivstar President Petro Chernyshev said.
Average revenue per user (ARPU) in Q3 2016 grew by 10%, to UAH 16, and the number of subscribers was up by 2%, to 26.3 million. The number of mobile Internet users fell by 9%, to 10.6 million.
The company said that in Q3 2016 it expanded the 3G coverage zone. Now, 52% of residents can have access to the 3G network.
Fix communications revenue grew by 10% over the period, to UAH 261 million.
EBITDA in Q3 2016 increased by 18%, to UAH 2.2 billion. EBITDA margin grew by 4.3 percentage points, to 55.3%.
