Kyivenergo sees 38% rise in net loss in Jan-June

Public joint-stock company Kyivenergo (Kyiv) saw a 38% rise in net loss in January-June 2016 year-over-year, climbing to UAH 752.212 million.

According to a company report, its net revenue in H1 2016 grew by 20.1%, to UAH 10.874 billion, and gross loss totaled UAH 165.869 million compared to UAH 295.082 million of gross profit in January-June 2015.

Electricity generation in H1 2016 amounted to 1.521 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh, a 4.7% decline year-over-year), and electricity transmission totaled 1.278 billion kWh (a 5.2% decline).

Heat production was 6.754 million gigacalories (a 2.3% rise) and heat sales – 5.57 million gigacalories (a 3.4% rise).

Kyivenergo in H1 2016 increased electricity distribution and sales to Kyiv's consumers by 0.8%, to 4.388 billion kWh.

The company in 2015 saw UAH 1.603 billion of net loss compared to net profit of UAH 83.786 million in 2014. Its net revenue grew by 32.8%, to UAH 18.119 billion.

Kyivenergo operates almost all the energy facilities located in Kyiv, except for Darnytsia combined heat and power plant.

Ukraine's largest vertically integrated energy holding DTEK owns 72.33% of the shares in Kyivenergo. Another 25% plus one share stake in the company belongs to the state.
