Justice ministry asking court to collect UAH 54.2 mln from Kyivenergo in Golden Mandarin Oil lawsuit

The Justice Ministry of Ukraine has filed a claim to court seeking to collect UAH 54.2 million from public joint-stock company Kyivenergo as recourse in the lawsuit of Golden Mandarin Oil lost in the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), Deputy Justice Minister Serhiy Shkliar said at a press conference in Kyiv on Tuesday.

"The Golden Mandarin Oil lawsuit against Kyivenergo concerns the return of stored fuel oil worth UAH 54.2 million. This was not done, and it was a ground for appealing to the ECHR. The relevant sum was paid [from the national budget] and now we have filed a lawsuit to court. The lawsuit amount is UAH 54.2 million," he said.

Kyivenergo operates almost all energy facilities located in the capital, except for Darnytsia combined heat and power plant. The company is part of Rinat Akhmetov's DTEK Holding.
