Gas stocks at Ukraine's underground storage facilities 7.4 bcm down in since start of heating season

Ukraine since the beginning of the 2015/2016 heating season has reduced natural gas stocks in its underground gas storage facilities (UGS) by 43.3%, or 7.391 billion cubic meters.

According to data from PJSC Ukrtransgaz, as of October 29, 2015 some 17.064 billion cubic meters of gas were stored in the UGS, while on March 7, 2016 gas reserves in the underground has storage facilities amounted to 9.673 billion cubic meters, which is 21.2% more than on March 7, 2015 (7.979 billion cubic meters).

On March 7, 2106, gas was pumped from the UGS in the pace of 41.25 million cubic meters a day and on March 7, 2015 – 29.08 million cubic meters a day.

In October 2015 gas taking was 10 million cubic meters, in November 2015 some 835 million cubic meters, in December 2015 some 2.224 billion cubic meters, in January 2016 the figure was 2.833 billion cubic meters and in February– 1.091 billion cubic meters and on March 1-7 – 348 million cubic meters.

According to live data from European operators of gas transportation systems, gas imports from Slovakia on March 7 totaled 10.1 million cubic meters, from Hungary 700,000 cubic meters, from Poland 2 million cubic meters. Imports from Russia were suspended from November 26, 2015.
