The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has imposed a fine on Oschadbank (Kyiv) in connection with the withdrawal of capital, NBU Head Valeriya Gontareva has stated.

"The penalty was imposed on Oschadbank in connection with the withdrawal of capital: due to this transaction the National Bank conducted an internal investigation regarding the transaction, informed law enforcement agencies," she said at a press conference, asked about the reason for a UAH 3 million fine imposed on Oschadbank.

As reported, Oschadbank contested a fine of UAH 3 million imposed by the National Bank of Ukraine, as well as declared baseless the allegations published in mass media of the bank's collusion with other persons in carrying out banking operations.

"The penalty does not concern the legality of operations on money transfer initiated by Ihor Kotvytsky. However, Oschadbank does not recognize the measures taken by the National Bank and contested them in the Kyiv District Administrative Court," the press service of the bank said.
