Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Regional Development, Construction and Housing of Ukraine Hennadiy Zubko has underlined the importance of Ukraine participating in the construction of new gas pipelines by Turkmenistan, which is diversifying its gas supplies.

"As of now, it is important for Turkmenistan to diversify gas supplies. Two more gas pipelines that will run from Turkmenistan through Afghanistan and Iran to India are under consideration today. And it is very important for us to participate in this project," Zubko told journalists in Ashgabat on Thursday.

In his words, Ukraine could supply compressors, turbines, specialists and engineers.

"It is also diversification by going through Iran to Turkey and access to Europe. We'd also like to take part in this, help with the construction and prop up the possibility of exporting Turkmen gas to the European market," Zubko said.
