Saakashvili's deputy Marushevska to head Odesa customs – Poroshenko

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has announced that Deputy Head of Odesa Regional State Administration Yulia Marushevska will be appointed as chief of Odesa customs.

"Odesa will get a new customs chief no later than Monday, the next working day," the president said while opening a new center for administrative services in Odesa on Friday.

Poroshenko stressed that Marushevska is "an extremely efficient and talented woman", who has good organization skills and will change the situation at Odesa customs.

"A new customs terminal will be built that will shorten the term of cargo registration," he said.

Poroshenko said the appointment will help to increase budget revenue and will enable the prompt building of the Odesa-Reni route.

"Finally, the building of the route launched, though not from Odesa but from Reni [a town in Odesa region]. And I'm sure that this road will revive a very important region for the whole Ukraine," he said.
