Energy ministry does not suit Naftogaz reformation plan proposed by EBRD – minister

Energy and Coal Industry Ministry of Ukraine has some essential remarks to the plan on reformation of national joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy proposed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Minister Volodymyr Demchyshyn said in Kyiv last week.

"As for the plan proposed by the EBRD, I had some remarks. At least they proposed some things that do not have sense in terms, to give full freedom to Naftogaz in attracting funds without any control, without the influence of the cabinet, ministry and have any expenses. There are essential things, which we don’t support," he said.

Demchyshyn said that there is the reformation plan approved by the Cabinet of Ministers and agreed by the World Bank.

"I sent a letter to the EBRD, where I said that there is no sense to agree various plans on reformation of Naftogaz– one for EBRD and one for the World Bank," the minister said.
