Yatseniuk instructs Fiscal Service, traders to take steps to withdraw grain market from shadows

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has instructed the State Fiscal Service together with grain market operators to take measures to withdraw the market from shadows.

"There were numerous facts of buying grain for cash. They say the price is even higher than for cashless purchases. This is either a scheme for money laundering or another scheme, perhaps on VAT refunds," he said at a government meeting in Kyiv.

Due to this the premier gave instructions to the Fiscal Service to solve this problem.

"I instruct the State Fiscal Service together with grain market operators to take measures to withdraw this market from shadows and determine what is happening on the grain market, why such large amounts of unaccounted cash come into the market," Yatseniuk said.

The premier also ordered the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food in cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the National Bank to introduce the expected revenues of foreign currency from agricultural exports by the end of the year.

"This will enable the National Bank to feel more confident and we will understand what the forex supply will be in the market," the prime minister stated.
