Ukrsotsbank (Kyiv, the UniCredit Bank trademark) plans to register an additional issue of shares worth UAH 5.869 billion using the relaxed procedure, First Deputy Board Chairperson Tamara Savoschenko, who from July 1 will be board chairperson, has said.

"We're gathering a new general meeting of shareholders and register an additional issue of shares using the relaxed procedure. We will hold the meeting on June 25 and by June 30 we plan to complete the submission for the registration of the additional issue of shares," she told reporters in Kyiv on Tuesday.

UniCredit Bank General Manager in Ukraine Mauro Maschio told reporters that Ukrsotsbank could see profit in 2015.

"I'm sure in this," he said.

Savoschenko said the bank would see operating profit in 2015.

"It is very likely that in 2015 no bank would see balance sheet profit. Mauro said about operation profit, not taking into account reserves," she said.

Savoschenko said that the forecast is linked to the necessity of forming additional reserves by banks after stress tests.

As reported, the National Commission on Securities and the Stock Market has refused Ukrsotsbank the registration of the issuance of additional common shares for a total of UAH 5.869 billion.

Ukrsotsbank informed the agency that it is a technical problem.

"The problem concerns rounding up kopecks in the share price for an additional issue. We, along with the securities commission, are looking for a solution and we are confident that it will be found in the near future," UniCredit Bank Financial Director Giacomo Volpi said.

Ukrsotsbank at the beginning of April this year announced its intention to increase its charter capital by $250 million. It planned to convert the corresponding funding from UniCredit Group into the bank's share capital.

Ukrsotsbank was founded in 1990. UniCredit Bank Austria AG in January 2015 owned a 37.3533% stake in the bank, PJSC Ferrotrade International – 35.5811%, UniCredit S.p.A. – 26.479%.

Ukrsotsbank ranked 6th among 158 operating banks as of January 1, 2015, in terms of total assets worth UAH 48.258 billion, according to the National Bank of Ukraine.
