Alfa-Bank and Ukrsotsbank (both based in Kyiv) have developed a strategy for innovations and intend to invest in financial technologies, Chairman of the Board of Ukrsotsbank, CEO of Alfa Group in Ukraine Ivan Svitek has said.

"This is a broad innovations strategy. There is an internal part where we actively motivate our employees to generate ideas. And there is an external part where we jointly with the partner attract startups. And there may be different conditions for cooperation here. We buy products from someone, somebody is given the opportunity to test their products on our site, and we are ready to invest in someone," Svitek told Interfax-Ukraine in a joint interview with Chairman of the Board of Alfa-Bank Ukraine Viktoriya Mykhailo.

As he said, he has a task not to earn on the sale of this asset but earn on the introduction of this solution in the bank.

"If someone comes to us with bitcoins, we will not consider this project. We always look at how much the project, product or solution will influence the business and how interesting it will be for customers. There is an example of a company that transfers money from the Ukrainian diaspora abroad to Ukraine. We do not have such services yet, we would like to enter this segment. We support this company, help grow and, possibly, in future we will merge with it," the banker said.
