Deposit Guarantee Fund starts paying to depositors of Bank Cambio, BG Bank on March 6

The Individuals' Deposit Guarantee Fund started payments to depositors of Bank Cambio and BG Bank via Ukrinbank (all based in Kyiv) from March 6.

According to a posting on the fund's website, payments will be settled until April 17. The payments to depositors who will not be able to come to Ukrinbank before April 17 will be settled on the basis of their personal applications before the day when the record on the liquidation of the bank as a legal entity is put on the state register of companies.

As reported, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on February 26 decided to liquidate BG Bank and on March 2 – Bank Cambio.

Bank Cambio was founded in 2004. Its largest shareholders as of July 1, 2014 were Natalia Taradaiko (16.8554%) and Andriy Chebanenko (28.1739%). However, in September it was reported that one shareholder decreased his stake in the bank to 9.63% from 28.174%, the other one increased to 24.521% from 16.855%, and in October the bank supervisory council was headed by ex-manager of Green Bank Vladyslav Zaporozhchenko.

BG Bank was founded in 1994.

Bank Cambio ranked 107th among 158 financial institutions operating in the country as of January 1, 2015 in terms of total assets worth UAH 696 million and BG Bank ranked 84th with assets worth UAH 1.301 billion, according to the National Bank of Ukraine.
