Higher business court on Feb 17 to hear case on return of state stakes in Golden Derrick on Sakhalynske field, says Nadra Ukrainy
The higher business court on February 17 is to hear a claim made by Golden Derrick against the rulings of courts of lower instances on the return of stakes in the Sakhalynske gas field by national joint-stock company Nadra Ukrainy, the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry has reported.
"Golden Derrick is affiliated with former energy and coal industry minister Eduard Stavytsky, Yuriy Ivaniuschenko and Mykola Prysiazhniuk, who are close to the Janukovych 'family.' Two judges from the judge panel which will hear the claim of Golden Derrick were involved in the issue of the court ruling on January 27, 2010 on the transfer of the Mezhyhirya residence to private structures close to Yanykovych," reads the report.
Nadra Ukrainy fear that the ruling could be unfair. The company is confident that the decision to return the state stakes in the company to state ownership is lawful.
