It is technically impossible to create an autonomous network using the equipment of joint-stock company Kyivstar in the occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, Director for Corporate Relations Mykhailo Shuranov has told Interfax-Ukraine.
"The Kyivstar network is managed from Kyiv, and all key control, monitoring, management and billing systems are located in the head office of the company. The creation of an autonomous network using Kyivstar's equipment in Donetsk or Luhansk regions is impossible," he said.
The operator said that on February 4 armed persons entered the technical center of Kyivstar's office in Donetsk on the same day the operator disconnected the mobile communications segment in part of the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions which is not under control of Ukrainian authorities.
