Kyivenergo from July to transfer to direct contracts with hot water and heat consumers

Kyiv energy company PJSC Kyivenergo from July 1 will transfer to direct contracts with hot water and heating consumers, CEO Oleksandr Fomenko has told reporters in Kyiv.

"From July 1, according to law No. 1198-VII [dated April 10, 2014] Kyivenergo is a provider of heating and hot water supply services and will transfer to direct contracts with consumers. Some 6,800 houses were transferred to direct contracts, the rest are housing associations and associations of multi-apartment block co-owners that have not decided yet," he said.

Deputy Sales Director at Kyiv Heating Networks Vadym Muchnikov explained that earlier Kyiv residents paid for hot water to housing associations, and the latter transferred money to Kyivenergo. Housing associations often delayed funds.

"From July Kyiv residents will receive bills not from housing associations but directly from Kyivenergo. Accordingly, the funds will go to Kyivenergo," he said.

Heating bills will also come from Kyivenergo from the beginning of the new heating season in October. And now the residents of the capital will pay the balance for the previous heating season under the bills coming from housing associations (formerly payment was divided for the whole year).
