Russia buys 1st tranche of Ukrainian bonds for $3 bln - PM
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said Tuesday that Russia had acquired the first tranche of Ukraine's sovereign bonds for $3 billion on Monday.
"Yesterday, at my instructions, on the basis of the documents we signed, was acquired the first tranche of Ukrainian sovereign bonds for $3 billion. The money went to the Central Bank of Ukraine yesterday," Medvedev said during a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart, Mykola Azarov.
Medvedev offered Azarov to discuss not only bilateral finance issues, but other broader plans for Russia and Ukraine as well.
"I hope that our meeting, which comes literally soon after last week's presidential meeting to sign major documents, will allow us to exchange our impressions on how things are going," Medvedev said.
