Some UAH 3.15 b to be raised from EBRD under state guarantees for subway construction in Kharkiv

It is planned to raise a UAH 3.15 billion loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for the construction of the Derzhavynska and Odeska subway stations of the Oleksiyivska line and the Oleksiyivske subway depot in Kharkiv.

"Governor Mykhailo Dobkin achieved agreement with Finance Minister Yuriy Kolobov on obtaining the necessary government guarantees to complete the Peremoha metro station. We made a schedule for formalizing documents. Upon receipt of the government guarantees, we will return to the issue of a credit," the press service of Kharkiv City Council said, citing Deputy Mayor Ihor Terekhov.

As reported, Head of Kharkiv Regional State Administration Mykhailo Dobkin said that by raising a loan from the EBRD under state guarantees, the construction of the Peremoha metro station of the Oleksiyivska subway line in Kharkiv could be completed.

"This option has already been tested in Dnipropetrovsk," said Dobkin.

Ukraine and the EBRD on July 27, 2012 signed a loan agreement worth EUR 152 million to expand Dnipropetrovsk Metropoliten.
