Ukraine, IMF agree on 5th review of EFF worth nearly $16 bln – PM
Ukraine and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have agreed on the 5th review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) arrangment worth nearly $15.6 billion, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced.
"Ukraine and the IMF, at the expert level, agreed on the 5th review of our EFF program worth $15.6 billion," Shmyhal wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to him, all quantitative criteria and structural benchmarks were met by the end of June.
"These agreements demonstrate that Ukraine continues important reforms and that our international partners support us on this path," Shmyhal said.
The Prime Minister also emphasized that the government expects the agreement to be approved by the IMF's Executive Board, after which Ukraine will receive $1.1 billion.
"This was the first IMF mission that fully operated in Kyiv during the full-scale invasion. We are grateful to the Fund's team for their work and support," he added.
Shmyhal noted that the financial aid from partners helps the Ukrainian government cover all non-military budget expenditures, allowing domestic resources to be directed toward the country's defense needs.
