Ukraine's largest coking coal producer, PrJSC Pokrovske Coal (Donetsk region), part of the Metinvest Group under Metinvest-Pokrovske Coal, is preparing to launch a new coalface with 1.5 million tonnes of coal reserves.

According to the company, the 2nd northern coalface of block 11 will be operational this year.

This is a promising direction: the reserves are 1.5 million tonnes of coal, with a seam thickness of up to 1.48 meters. Coal extraction will begin in September.

"The installation teams are working at their maximum capacity. The 'Mining Workings Repair No.1' team is continuously working, and Conveyor Transport 12 is preparing the path for transporting the coal extracted from the new coalface. Everything is being done to meet the set deadlines," the company said.

Metinvest is a vertically integrated group of mining and metallurgical enterprises with operations in Ukraine (Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia, and Dnipropetrovsk regions), as well as in Europe and the United States.

The main shareholders of Metinvest B.V. are the SCM Group (71.24%) and the Smart Holding Group (23.76%), which jointly manage the company.
