FC Obolon owes UAH 7 m salaries to football players, says prosecutor's office

The prosecutor's office of Obolonsky district of Kyiv has opened a criminal case regarding the officials of Kyiv FC Obolon for their unjustified failure to pay UAH 7 million in salaries.

As the press service of Obolonsky district prosecutor's office reported, 75 football players and 7 coaches of the FC Obolon have not yet received salaries for August-November 2012.

The debts total about UAH 7 million. The organization had the money, but the officials of the club failed to use them for paying salaries, while paid for the services of the agents, guard, fuel, sports goods etc, the prosecutors claim.

A criminal case has been opened under the paragraph 1 of Article 175 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine against the officials of FC Obolon (non-payment of salaries).

"The prosecutor's office of Obolonsky district of Kyiv put information about the violations committed by the officials of FC Obolon to the single register of the prejudicial inquiry," reads the report.

Obolonsky district police department wasn charged with conducting the inquiry into this criminal case.
