Epicenter K becomes official sponsor of Ukraine national football team

The exclusive commercial agent of the Football Federation of Ukraine – Ukraine Football International – and Kyiv-based Epicenter K LLC, which unites the eponymous construction hypermarket chain in Ukraine, have signed a contract on appointing Epicenter Company the official sponsor of the Ukraine national football team for the period until the end of 2014.

"Epicenter will pay $2 million to be the official sponsor of the Ukraine national football team. There will be bonuses for a victory by the national team of $100,000 for each official and friendly match, and $50,000 for the draw," Board Chairman of private joint-stock company Ukraine Football International Volodymyr Lashkul said at a press conference in Kyiv on Tuesday.

Epicenter has been the official sponsor of the Ukrainian Premier League championship for the last five years. The company was the first national sponsor of the UEFA Euro 2012 tournament hosted by Ukraine and Poland.

Epicenter is also a general partner of the Professional Hockey League of the 2011-2012 seasons. The chain opened an eponymous sports club in Khmelnytsky region. Sportsmen from the Epicenter club won medals at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London: weight-lifter Oleksiy Torokhtiy and boxer Oleksandr Usik won golden medals and boxer Oleksandr Hvozdyk won bronze.

Epicenter K was established in November 2011 and registered at the same address as the hypermarket at 6V Berkovetska Street in Kyiv. The co-owners of the company are Oleksandr and Halyna Hereha.

As of November 26, 2012, Epicenter K united 39 trade centers in Kyiv, Lviv, Poltava, Odesa, Chernivtsi, Kharkiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Luhansk, Khmelnytsky, Mykolaiv, Kryvy Rih (Dnipropetrovsk region), Ternopil, Cherkasy, Uzhgorod, Rivne, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Lutsk, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Horlivka, Makiyivka (Donetsk region), Mukacheve (Zakarpattia region), Kamyanets-Podilsky (Khmelnytsky region), Chernihiv, Sevastopol, Mariupol, Simferopol and Luhansk.

Epicenter K opened the first Epicenter hypermarket in Kyiv in December 2003.
