A year and a half ago, Donbasenergo built and commissioned the Energetik sports and recreation complex for the residents of Mykolaivka United Territorial Community, where the main employer of the town, Sloviansk TPP, is located. Today, no Ukrainian community of 17,000 people can boast of such a large-scale project being implemented: football pitch, tennis courts, basketball court, indoor swimming pool with five full-fledged lanes, a variety of open-air sections for adults and kids, fitted with high-grade sports fit-outs in tune with modern-day criteria. Not only from the neighboring villages, but also from the neighboring villages of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk are coming those seeking to improve their health here.

Athletes of the Donetsk Region Judo Federation and the Donetsk Olympic Reserve Superior School, Donbass Handball Club, Kharkiv Badminton sports club undergo a full training course at the Energetik site.

Local residents have got used to daily sporting events hosted in the Donetsk Region with the branch of National Olympic Committee of Ukraine involved. The key event was Serhii Bubka, President of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, 35-time Ukrainian world champion visiting Mykolaivka in 2019. He delivered the Olympic Flag to the Energetik Sports Complex.

Each fourth Mykolaivka United Territorial Community schoolboy attends this Sports Complex. There are also the first solid achievements: The first team place at the "Charivna Rusalonka" ("Charming Mermaid"), the All-Ukrainian competition for synchronized swimming. It also took the 5th place at the Championship of Ukraine for synchronized swimming amongst 14 teams in the general ranking of combined groups. The 2nd team string won the 9th place and took 1st place and prizes in categories "Solo" and "Duo" in 2010-2011 as part of the national team.

Currently, 8 children's sports sections are open in Energetik Sports Club: synchronized and wellness swimming, judo, boxing, Thai boxing, football, badminton and dancing. Dance and boxing sections, a gym with professional equipment that has no analogues in Ukraine are open daily for adults. A beauty room has recently been opened where all conditions have been developed for quality recovery.
